You heard right folks, this week I am going a week without Netflix.
‘But Naomi, what will you do with your time?’ I hear you ask in a voice oh so confused.
The answer is very simple my lovely followers. Instead of hours lost in the black hole that is Netflix, I will be putting my time to better use and doing things that need to be done. I will be productive. Whether this is doing work for my MA course, calling international friends, writing in my journal or just doing that pile of laundry I keep putting off, I want to spend this week productively and (hopefully) without procrastination.
Before Netflix and streaming, I could spend hours doing things I loved while listening to the sound of my favourite musicians. Recently, however, I’ve come to realise that my brain needs more stimulation. It needs the colour and movement of television shows and movies and this terrified me. I miss the days when my brain could focus on the one thing at hand and music was enough to ease my soul.
So I’ve decided to spend a week away from Netflix and see where it takes me.
Today, the 6th of November is day 1, and I must say I’m already glad for it. Instead of coming home and maybe watching an episode of my latest binge with a cup of tea before I do anything that needs doing, I got straight on my to-do list instead. I’m hoping this can continue until the end of the week and even further into the future.
So come along with me on this journey and let me know your thoughts down below in the comment section. Have you ever gone through a Netflix detox? If so, how did it go? I would love to hear about it.
Wish me luck, and I’ll see you soon!
