Hello all my wonderful readers, how are you today?
I hope it’s not to cold where you are right now. I’m sorry I’m so behind with Blogmas, I will catch up soon I promise!
As I do every year when Christmas comes around, I’ve began to reflect on my actions and the those of the people around me. I see people rushing and pushing to get here and there, their stress materialising into a white ball in-front of their lips as they sigh into the cold winter air. I sit at home and feel the effects of seasonal depression, with whom I am well acquainted and I wonder, ‘Does anyone else feel this way?’
With the pressure to be happy, yet make everyone happy at the same time, the Christmas season, for those who celebrate it, can be a pretty stressful time. Which is why I devised a challenge for myself.
I want to take the time to step out of my own bubble and really look at the people around me. To be more considerate, a little more patient.
So, my lovely readers, I challenge you too, to be kind to someone today. And by kind I don’t mean go and buy someone that car they have been dreaming of. No, just smile at a stranger when they walk passed, thank the stressed out cashier sincerely, write a letter to someone you love or even just make the time to go grab a tea with an old friend you’ve been too busy to see.
Despite Christmas being the season of giving, until the actual day arrives, it’s easy to fall (unintentionally) into a self-absorbed routine, what with work picking up and the stress of present buying weighing you down and emptying your purse.
So be kind, considerate and take care of yourself and those around you.
