I still can’t believe it; We’re getting married. The words seem to get lost in my mouth as my lips form into a smile around them. I just can’t stop smiling! It was the most meaningful proposal from the thoughtful man, and I’ve been dying to share our story with you.
On April 14th, Chad took me back to the door of my old apartment building where I first told him I liked him and got down on one knee. I had been dreaming of this moment since the moment I realised I loved him and it was more than I ever could have wished for. Instead of a ring, Chad got down on one knee and presented me with a hand carved traditional Welsh love spoon. Despite being from Canada, Chad took the time to learn my culture and keep it with me despite being so far from home. With carvings representing not only our love and but members of my family, our love spoon will be something I cherish every day for the rest of my life.
Not only did he give me this beautiful gift of love, but he also chose the date around my OCD. Knowing I hate odd numbers, Chad chose the fourth month of the year and the same date we got together. I will forever wonder how in the world I found someone so wonderful and thoughtful to spend the rest of my life with.
It was a beautiful day and I got to enjoy the moment not only with Chad but with my best friends Claire, Mikey and Richard who had helped him plan the whole thing under the pretence of filming a video for Chad and Mikey’s YouTube Channel. Thanks to this, they caught the whole evening on tape and I can forever relive this moment and show it to our future children and grandchildren.
Chad, you are the love of my life and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you. Thank you for asking me to marry you.
I love you. Am Byth,Gariad.
