Hello my lovely ladies (and hopefully gents) and welcome to the third instalment of Positively Periods, a place where women pull up their knickers and share their thoughts and feelings about periods. This week you are in for a treat! As the lovely Gwennan from Twenty Something Meltdown has agreed to be a part of this awesome series! As a fellow welsh blogger I have to say I am rather biased in my love for her and her blog, but as you are about to find out, her words are always worth a read. So grab a cup of tea and enjoy!
Also, if you are interested in taking part in this series, please don’t be afraid to DM on twitter or drop me an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
‘Positive’ is not a word I really associated with periods for a long long time. Like, if we’re being honest it’s STILL not a word I’d associate with it when I’m two days in and feeling like a slug in a duvet but hey, we’re working toward it.
I, like many women around the world, suffer for 5 days a month, and I can’t say that I feel particularly pleased when Flo makes a visit, aside from the standard OMFG THANK GOD I WAS CONVINCED I WAS PREGNANT every month standard ritual. The first few months back when I was 13 I had to take a week off school every time because it just knocked me for six and made me so flippin poorly. Needless to say it’s not my favourite thing about being a girl.
