Happy Belated Sunday all! Welcome to the second instalment of Life’s A Cup Of Tea. By the time this post goes live, Sunday will have already come and gone. But despair not, for another one is soon coming! I always loved and hates Sundays. A day of blissful rest, but only a stone’s throw away from work. Because of this, I decided to spend Sundays reflecting on my week and hopefully get myself mentally ready for the week ahead.
Monday, May 8th – Sunday, May 14th
*It’s Mental Health Awareness Week/Month. It honestly lifts my spirits to see so many positive and factual posts about mental health dotted all around the internet recently; Sprouting up like fresh spring flowers. The internet has once again reminded me why I blog about mental health and has rekindled my strength to continue. Let’s keep this positive attitude even when Mental Health Awareness May is over!
*Goodbye Okinawa. After a wonderful few days on the homely island of Naha, it was time to return to Nagasaki. Even now, a week later I miss the fresh air and tropical feel. We spent Monday morning stuffing our faces at the cosiest bagel cafe and doing a fun little mermaid shoot. For those of you who love diving and a more relaxed holiday, I would definitely recommend Okinawa and all of its islands.
*I got accepted into Bath Spa University for an MA in Creative Writing! I still can’t believe it, it’s like a dream come true. For the past year, I have been psyching myself up, going through waves of sickening self-doubt and dizzying confidence. My interview took place at midnight JTS time on Monday, after getting back to Okinawa, so I was more than a little tired! I am thankful, however, that the lovely people interviewing me saw potential. I am just over the moon.
*I’ve been re-reading Harry Potter the past two weeks, and I’m nearly done with Prisoner of Azkaban. I had forgotten how amazing these books truly are. JK Rowling, you are my literary hero. I think the third book may be my favourite, that or the fourth? We’ll see when I finish them all. Which book is your favourite? Let me know in the comment section below.
*Zines, Zines, Zines. After finally taking the plunge and opening an Etsy shop, I finally decided to make some zines. I had wanted to make one for the last four years and got stuck right in. No time like the present, as they say. Me and my friend, Claire, had a lovely zine-making session on Saturday, after decluttering my desk and throwing away old, unneeded papers and used up pens. Thanks for the help, gariad, you saved my pack rat heart!
*The fourteen also marked a month of being engaged, and that’s definitely something to be excited about!
All in all, it was a pretty good week. Let me know how your weeks went below in the comments below!
