Banana Fudge Recipe: A Sweet and Creamy Treat

  • Author: Naomi
  • Total Time: 2 hrs 10 min

Description

This Banana Fudge is a smooth, sweet, and creamy dessert that combines the tropical flavor of ripe bananas with rich, melt-in-your-mouth fudge. It’s the perfect way to indulge in something banana-flavored that’s not a typical banana bread. With a simple set of ingredients, you can enjoy this decadent treat in no time!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

  • 2 cups white chocolate chips (or milk chocolate chips)

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional, for added crunch)

  • 1 tablespoon banana extract (optional, for extra banana flavor)

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Pan:

  • Line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it for easy removal of the fudge later.

2️⃣ Melt the Chocolate and Butter:

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk and butter over low heat. Stir constantly until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth.

  • Add the white chocolate chips (or milk chocolate chips) to the saucepan and continue stirring until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy.

3️⃣ Mash the Bananas:

  • In a separate bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth, leaving a few small chunks if you like a bit of texture in the fudge.

  • If using banana extract, add it to the mashed bananas and mix well.

4️⃣ Combine the Ingredients:

  • Once the chocolate mixture is smooth, remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the mashed bananas, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix everything until fully combined.

5️⃣ Add the Nuts (Optional):

  • If you’re using walnuts or pecans, fold them into the banana fudge mixture.

6️⃣ Set the Fudge:

  • Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

  • Refrigerate the fudge for 2-3 hours, or until it’s fully set and firm to the touch.

7️⃣ Slice and Serve:

  • Once the fudge has set, remove it from the pan and cut it into small squares.

  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Banana Flavor: For a more intense banana flavor, feel free to use banana extract or even puree the bananas into a smooth paste before adding them to the fudge.

  • Storage: Store the banana fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. It can also be frozen for up to 2 months—just thaw in the fridge before serving.

  • Nuts: If you don’t like nuts, you can easily omit them or replace them with chocolate chips, dried fruit, or even shredded coconut for extra texture.
