For the chicken tenders:

  • 1 lb chicken tenders
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 ½ cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)

For the honey butter sauce:

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the chicken: Pat chicken tenders dry. In a shallow dish, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

2️⃣ In another bowl, whisk the eggs and water together.

3️⃣ Place the panko breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish.

4️⃣ Dip each chicken tender first into the flour mixture, then the egg wash, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs. Press lightly to adhere.

5️⃣ Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken tenders in batches for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

6️⃣ Make the honey butter sauce: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in honey and salt until well combined. Remove from heat.

7️⃣ Serve the crispy chicken tenders warm with the honey butter sauce drizzled on top or on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, double coat the tenders by repeating the egg and breadcrumb step.

  • Baking option: Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, for a healthier alternative.
