Description

Crockpot Angel Chicken is a comforting and creamy dish that combines tender chicken breasts with a savory sauce made from golden mushroom soup, Italian dressing mix, cream cheese, and chicken broth.

Ingredients

Scale

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/4 cup butter
1 packet Italian dressing mix
1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed golden mushroom soup
1/2 cup chicken broth
4 ounces cream cheese
1 pound angel hair pasta

Instructions

Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the Italian dressing mix, golden mushroom soup, chicken broth, cream cheese. Stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Pour the sauce over the chicken in the crockpot.
Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
Cook the angel hair pasta according to package instructions. Drain.
Serve the chicken and sauce over the cooked angel hair pasta.

Notes

  • For Extra Flavor: Searing the chicken breasts in a pan for a few minutes before adding them to the crockpot can enhance the flavor. This step is optional but adds a slight golden-brown crust that boosts taste.
  • Adjusting Consistency: If you prefer a thicker sauce, use less chicken broth or allow the sauce to cook with the lid slightly ajar in the last 30 minutes. Alternatively, for a thinner sauce, add a bit more broth or water.
  • Substitute for Golden Mushroom Soup: If golden mushroom soup is hard to find, cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup are good substitutes, though they may alter the flavor slightly.
  • Serving Suggestions: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley or basil for a pop of color and added freshness. Pair this dish with a side salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers: This recipe is great for meal prep. It reheats well, though you may want to add a splash of chicken broth when reheating to keep the sauce creamy.
