This Easy Garlic Butter Chicken with Creamy Parmesan Sauce is rich, flavorful, and perfect for quick weeknight dinners. Tender chicken breasts are seared in garlic butter, then simmered in a creamy Parmesan sauce that’s absolutely irresistible!

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon paprika

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

For the Parmesan Sauce:

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • ½ cup chicken broth

  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

1️⃣ Season the chicken:
Pat the chicken dry and season both sides with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

2️⃣ Sear the chicken:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken and cook for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).
Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside.

3️⃣ Prepare the sauce:
In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
Pour in chicken broth and scrape any browned bits from the pan. Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using).
Simmer for 3–5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

4️⃣ Return the chicken:
Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over the top.
Simmer for another 2–3 minutes to reheat and fully coat the chicken.

5️⃣ Serve:
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot. Pair with pasta, mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.

Notes

  • You can substitute half-and-half for heavy cream for a lighter version.

  • Add sautéed spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor and nutrition.

  • Leftovers store well and reheat beautifully.
