Description

This Caprese Salad layers juicy tomatoes, creamy fresh mozzarella, and fragrant basil, all drizzled with a tangy-sweet balsamic reduction. Simple, stunning, and packed with fresh flavor!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large ripe tomatoes, sliced

  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced

  • ½ cup fresh basil leaves

  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar

  • 1 tbsp honey (optional, for sweetness)

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste


Instructions

1️⃣ Make the balsamic reduction: In a small saucepan, bring balsamic vinegar to a simmer over medium heat. Stir in honey (if using). Simmer for 10–12 minutes until thickened and syrupy. Let cool.

2️⃣ Assemble the salad: On a platter or individual plates, alternate slices of tomato and mozzarella. Tuck in basil leaves between slices.

3️⃣ Dress and season: Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic reduction. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.

4️⃣ Serve: Enjoy immediately as an appetizer or light meal with crusty bread.

  • Use heirloom or multi-colored tomatoes for extra visual appeal.

  • Add avocado slices for a creamy twist.
