  • Author: Christine

Description

Garlic Parmesan Chicken Skewers are a flavorful and easy-to-make dish that combines tender chicken pieces with a rich garlic parmesan butter sauce. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a party appetizer, these skewers are cooked to perfection in an air fryer, resulting in juicy, succulent chicken with a crispy, flavorful exterior. The combination of garlic, parmesan, and a hint of spice creates a deliciously savory profile that will impress your family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 2 lbs chicken tenders, thighs, or breast
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the Garlic Parmesan Butter Sauce:

  • 1 stick butter
  • 810 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup parmesan, grated
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce (more if desired)
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 1/3 cup fresh parsley, minced

For the Chicken Seasonings:

  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • Prep and Skewer the Chicken:
    • Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes.
    • Cut chicken into 3-inch pieces. In a large bowl, combine the chicken pieces with olive oil and the seasoning mixture (paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper), ensuring even coating.
    • Thread the chicken pieces onto the skewers, packing them tightly together. Snip the skewers if necessary to fit the air fryer.
  • Make the Garlic Parmesan Butter Sauce:
    • Partially melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir in minced garlic, grated parmesan, hot sauce, red pepper flakes, and minced parsley until well combined. If the sauce separates, re-emulsify by stirring in softened butter.
  • Cook the Chicken:
    • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Arrange skewers in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
    • Cook the skewers for 5 minutes, then flip and baste with the sauce. Cook for another 2 minutes, flip again, and baste once more. Continue cooking for 5-6 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
    • After cooking, give the skewers a final basting with the reserved sauce and sprinkle with extra parmesan before serving.

Notes

  • Marinating Tip: For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the seasoning mixture overnight.
  • Spice Level: Adjust the hot sauce and red pepper flakes to suit your preferred spice level.
  • Cooking Without an Air Fryer: If you don’t have an air fryer, these skewers can also be grilled or baked in the oven. Adjust cooking times accordingly.
  • Storage: Leftover skewers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer or oven for the best texture.
