Ingredients
For the steak:
-
1 lb sirloin steak, sliced into thin strips
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
1 tsp garlic powder
For the garlic butter sauce:
-
3 tbsp butter
-
4 garlic cloves, minced
-
½ cup beef broth or water
-
½ tsp Italian seasoning
-
¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
-
Salt and pepper to taste
For the ravioli:
-
12 oz refrigerated cheese ravioli
-
Water for boiling
-
Salt for pasta water
Optional garnish:
-
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
-
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1️⃣ Cook the ravioli: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the cheese ravioli and cook according to package instructions until al dente (usually 4-5 minutes). Drain and set aside.
2️⃣ Prepare the steak: Season steak strips with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil. Sear steak strips for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and just cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
3️⃣ Make the garlic butter sauce: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in beef broth, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to slightly reduce.
4️⃣ Combine: Add the drained ravioli to the garlic butter sauce and gently toss to coat. Return the steak to the skillet and stir everything together just until heated through.
5️⃣ Garnish and serve: Top with chopped parsley and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately while warm and buttery.
Notes
-
Steak Tip: Use sirloin, ribeye, or flank steak for the best texture and flavor.
-
Ravioli Swap: Cheese ravioli pairs perfectly, but meat or spinach-filled ravioli also work great.
-
Butter Sauce: For extra richness, add a splash of cream or a touch of grated Parmesan to the sauce.
-
Time Saver: Use store-bought fresh ravioli for a faster cook time.
-
Spice Level: Skip the red pepper flakes for a milder dish, or double them for extra heat.
-
One Skillet: Make sure your skillet is large enough to hold everything without crowding for best results.
-
Make Ahead: Steak can be pre-seasoned and even seared in advance, then reheated with the final dish.
