Description

Pecan Pie Brownies are the ultimate fusion dessert that combines the fudgy, chocolatey goodness of brownies with the sweet, nutty richness of pecan pie. This delightful treat is perfect for any occasion, whether it’s a holiday gathering, a family dinner, or a simple indulgence for yourself.

Ingredients

For the Brownie Base:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
For the Pecan Pie Topping:
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups pecans, coarsely chopped

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Brownie Base: In a medium bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread the batter into the prepared pan.
Pecan Pie Topping: In another bowl, whisk together corn syrup, sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Stir in chopped pecans. Gently pour over the brownie base.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the filling is set.
Allow to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

  1. Ingredient Quality: For the best results, use high-quality ingredients. Real butter, pure vanilla extract, and fresh pecans will enhance the overall flavor of the brownies.
  2. Parchment Paper: Lining your baking pan with parchment paper not only prevents sticking but also makes it easier to lift the brownies out of the pan for cutting.
  3. Mixing: When preparing the brownie batter, mix just until the ingredients are combined. Overmixing can lead to tough brownies. For the pecan topping, ensure the ingredients are well incorporated to achieve a smooth, even topping.
  4. Baking: Keep an eye on the brownies during the last few minutes of baking. Overbaking can result in a hard, dry texture. The pecan topping should be set and a deep golden brown, but not too dark.
  5. Cooling: Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting. This helps the layers set properly and makes cutting cleaner and easier.
  6. Storage: Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or in the refrigerator for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze the brownies individually wrapped in plastic wrap and placed in a freezer-safe bag for up to three months.
  7. Serving Suggestions: These brownies are delicious on their own, but you can also serve them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a dollop of whipped cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce. Fresh berries or a cup of coffee make great accompaniments as well.
