  • Author: Kouider Walid Bentahar

Description

These stuffing balls bring all the comforting flavors of traditional stuffing into a convenient, bite-sized form. Perfect as a side dish for holiday gatherings, they’re packed with savory flavors from poultry seasoning, broth, and butter. With a crisp outer layer and a soft, moist center, these balls are a great addition to any festive spread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups dry stuffing mix
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • Combine Ingredients
    • In a large bowl, mix the dry stuffing mix with chicken broth and melted butter until moistened.
    • Add the beaten eggs, chopped onion, celery, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  • Form Balls
    • Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized portions. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each ball.
  • Bake
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and firm to the touch.
  • Serve
    • Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Make Ahead: You can prepare the stuffing mixture and shape the balls up to two days in advance. Store them in the refrigerator, covered, until ready to bake.
  • Variations: For a twist, add dried cranberries, chopped nuts, or crumbled sausage for extra flavor and texture.
  • Vegan Option: Substitute vegetable broth for chicken broth, use olive oil or plant-based butter, and replace eggs with a flax egg or mashed potatoes for binding.
  • Reheating: For best results, reheat in an oven preheated to 350°F. This helps keep the exterior crisp without drying out the center.
