Description

This easy Halloween coconut candy combines sweet, chewy coconut with rich chocolate and crispy turkey bacon, topped off with eerie red gel and candy eyeballs. It’s the perfect spooky snack for Halloween parties, blending creative visuals with irresistible flavor. These bite-sized candies are simple to prepare, fun to decorate, and always a hit with kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
  • 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 chocolate Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped
  • 6 slices of turkey bacon
  • 24 candy eyeballs
  • Red decorating gel

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine shredded coconut, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. Take a small spoonful of the mixture and shape into a ball around a Hershey’s Kiss, fully enclosing the chocolate.
  4. Cut each slice of turkey bacon in half lengthwise, then again across to create 4 strips per slice (total of 24 strips).
  5. Wrap two strips of turkey bacon around each coconut ball, forming an “X” on the top and securing the coconut mixture inside.
  6. Place the wrapped balls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the turkey bacon is crispy and coconut is lightly golden.
  8. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Dab a bit of red decorating gel where the bacon strips cross, then press on two candy eyeballs so they stick.
  9. Let set completely before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, replace turkey bacon with fruit leather or omit it altogether and roll the coconut mixture in cocoa powder or dark chocolate.

  • You can freeze the assembled (unbaked) candies for up to 2 weeks. Just thaw slightly before baking.

  • Add food coloring to the coconut mix for added flair—green for monsters, red for vampires, or purple for witches.

  • Candy eyes are widely available around Halloween in baking supply stores or online—stock up early.

  • Use sweetened condensed milk for extra creamy texture, and make sure to mix it well with the coconut for best results.
