Ingredients
- 3 cups dark chocolate chips
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Black gel food coloring (optional, for a darker tone)
- Edible silver glitter or edible silver stars (for moonlight effect)
- Sea salt flakes (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the dark chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Stir continuously until smooth and melted.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. If using, add a small amount of black gel food coloring to deepen the color.
- Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Sprinkle edible silver glitter or stars over the top for a moonlit effect. Add a pinch of sea salt flakes if desired.
- Refrigerate until the fudge is fully set and firm, about 2 hours or more.
- Once set, lift the fudge from the pan using the parchment paper and cut into small squares.
Notes
-
Use high-quality dark chocolate chips for a richer fudge flavor.
-
Black gel food coloring enhances the Halloween aesthetic but is optional.
-
Raspberry jam makes a great alternative to red gel for a natural “blood” effect.
-
Chill the fudge thoroughly for clean cuts and sturdy toppers.
-
Assemble cupcakes close to serving time to maintain the structure of the frosting and fudge.
