Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 box of macaroni
  • 1 cup each of grated cheddar and mozzarella cheeses
  • 1 can (28 ounces) of whole tomatoes, blended
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
2. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until it turns translucent.
3, Add the lean ground beef to the skillet and cook until it’s browned and cooked through. Break it up into crumbles as it cooks.
4. Season the beef with salt, black pepper, and minced garlic. Stir well to incorporate the flavors. You can also add whatever additional seasonings you prefer at this point.
5. Pour in the blended whole tomatoes and stir the mixture. Let it simmer for a few minutes.
6. Meanwhile, cook the macaroni according to the package instructions. Drain it when it’s al dente.
7. Add the cooked macaroni to the skillet with the beef and tomato mixture. Mix them together evenly.
8. Sprinkle the grated cheddar and mozzarella cheeses over the top of the casserole.
9. Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for about 10-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the casserole is heated through.
Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and then serve your delicious Cheesy Hamburger Casserole. Enjoy!

Notes

This casserole can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking, making it a convenient option for busy days. You can also freeze leftovers for up to 3 months—perfect for quick meals later on.
