Ingredients
-
1 (8 oz) container of Cool Whip (thawed)
-
1/2 cup powdered sugar
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (for dipping)
-
1 cup mini marshmallows (optional, for extra texture)
-
1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies or crushed candy canes (optional, for a festive touch)
-
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, such as pecans or walnuts)
Instructions
1️⃣ Mix the Base:
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed Cool Whip, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and creamy.
2️⃣ Add Mix-ins:
-
If you’re using mini marshmallows, crushed peppermint, or chopped nuts, fold them into the Cool Whip mixture. This will give your candy a fun texture and festive flavor.
3️⃣ Chill the Mixture:
-
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper. Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of the Cool Whip mixture onto the baking sheet. You can shape them into small mounds or little candy bites.
-
Place the baking sheet in the freezer for about 1 hour, or until the candy mounds are firm and set.
4️⃣ Prepare the Chocolate:
-
While the Cool Whip mixture is chilling, melt the chocolate chips. You can do this by microwaving the chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
5️⃣ Dip the Candies:
-
Once the Cool Whip mounds are set, remove them from the freezer. Dip each candy into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated. You can use a fork or tongs to make the dipping process easier.
6️⃣ Let the Candies Set:
-
Place the dipped candies back onto the parchment paper-lined baking sheet. If you want an extra holiday touch, sprinkle some crushed peppermint over the top of the candies before the chocolate sets.
-
Let the chocolate-coated candies sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes, or place them back in the fridge to set faster.
7️⃣ Serve and Enjoy:
-
Once the chocolate is fully set, your Cool Whip Candy is ready to serve. Store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge for up to 1 week.
