Ingredients
-
2 lbs (900g) cubed steak (or tenderized round steak)
-
1 packet (1 oz) onion soup mix
-
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
-
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
-
½ cup beef broth
-
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
-
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the crockpot:
Lightly spray the inside of the crockpot with cooking spray.
2️⃣ Layer the steak:
Place the cubed steaks evenly in the bottom of the crockpot.
3️⃣ Mix the gravy:
In a medium bowl, combine the onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir until well blended.
4️⃣ Pour over the steak:
Pour the gravy mixture evenly over the cubed steak in the crockpot.
5️⃣ Cook:
Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 4-5 hours, until the steak is fork-tender.
6️⃣ Thicken the gravy (optional):
If you prefer a thicker gravy, mix the cornstarch and water to form a slurry. Stir it into the gravy during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
7️⃣ Serve:
Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
