  • Total Time: 25 min

Description

This easy shrimp pasta features tender spaghetti tossed in a light garlic butter sauce with juicy, pan-seared shrimp. Ready in under 30 minutes, it’s a satisfying, restaurant-style meal you can whip up any night of the week!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz spaghetti or linguine

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 3 tbsp butter

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley

  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for topping)

Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the pasta: In salted boiling water, cook pasta until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.

2️⃣ Sauté the shrimp: Pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.

3️⃣ Make the sauce: Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the same skillet and melt. Stir in garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook 1 minute until fragrant.

4️⃣ Combine: Return shrimp to the skillet, add lemon juice, and toss to coat. Add cooked pasta and a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce if needed.

5️⃣ Finish and serve: Toss with chopped parsley and Parmesan. Serve immediately with extra lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

  • Add halved cherry tomatoes or spinach for extra color and nutrition.

  • Swap butter for cream to make it a creamy garlic shrimp pasta.

  • Use linguine, angel hair, or gluten-free pasta as desired.
