These bite-sized treats are easy to make and can be customized with your favorite yogurt flavors and toppings. Ideal for a quick snack, dessert, or even a fun addition to breakfast, these frozen bites are as versatile as they are delicious. The best part? They require minimal ingredients and effort, making them a convenient option to prepare in advance and store in your freezer for whenever the craving strikes.
Ingredients
- Any Flavor of Yogurt: Choose your favorite yogurt—Greek or regular, full-fat or low-fat, dairy or non-dairy.
- Optional Toppings: Diced strawberries, small blueberries, sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, granola, nuts, shredded coconut, or any other topping of your choice.
- Small Sheet Pan or Tray: Ensure it fits in your freezer.
- Parchment Paper: For easy removal of yogurt bites.
- Plastic Bag for Piping: Alternatively, use a spoon or squeeze bottle.
Instructions
- Prepare Your Tray:
- Line a small sheet pan or tray with parchment paper. Make sure the tray fits comfortably in your freezer.
- Fill the Piping Bag:
- Fill a piping bag or plastic sandwich bag with yogurt. If using a bag, cut a small hole in one corner to control the flow. You can also use a spoon if a piping bag isn’t available.
- Pipe the Yogurt:
- Pipe bite-sized blobs of yogurt onto the lined tray. Leave some space between each blob to allow for slight spreading.
- Add Toppings:
- Immediately sprinkle your chosen toppings onto the yogurt blobs. Gently press them into the yogurt to ensure they stick.
- Freeze:
- Place the tray in the freezer for 2-3 hours, or overnight, until the yogurt bites are completely frozen. If needed, tent the tray with foil to protect the yogurt without it touching the bites.
- Store:
- Once frozen, remove the yogurt bites from the parchment paper using a spatula or your hands. Store them in a freezer-safe bag or container, and keep them in the freezer until you’re ready to enjoy.
Notes
- Yogurt Selection: The type of yogurt you choose will affect the texture and flavor of the bites. Greek yogurt tends to be thicker and creamier, while regular yogurt is lighter and tangier. Dairy-free yogurts, such as almond or coconut, are excellent for those with dietary restrictions.
- Toppings: Feel free to get creative with toppings. You can mix and match to create unique flavor combinations, from sweet and fruity to nutty and crunchy.
- Storage: Properly stored, frozen yogurt bites can last up to two months in the freezer. Ensure they are kept in an airtight container to avoid freezer burn.
