Description
These over-the-top donut sandwiches layer creamy peanut butter and chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups between pillowy glazed donuts for a mash-up of sweet, salty, and downright decadent flavors. Perfect for breakfast-for-dessert or an indulgent party treat!
Ingredients
-
6 glazed yeast-raised donuts (store-bought or homemade), split horizontally
-
½ cup creamy peanut butter
-
12 mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, chopped
-
¼ cup mini chocolate chips (optional for sprinkle)
-
2 tbsp melted butter (optional, for crisping)
-
Pinch of flaky sea salt (optional)
Instructions
1️⃣ Prep the donuts. Slice each donut in half so you have 12 “lids” and “bases.” If you like a bit of crunch, brush the cut sides lightly with melted butter and toast face-down in a skillet over medium heat until golden (about 1–2 minutes).
2️⃣ Spread peanut butter. Evenly spread about 1 tablespoon of creamy peanut butter on each donut base.
3️⃣ Add Reese’s cups. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups over the peanut butter on each base, pressing gently so they adhere.
4️⃣ Assemble sandwiches. Place the donut lids over the filled bases, pressing lightly to secure.
5️⃣ Garnish. If desired, sprinkle mini chocolate chips over the top and finish with a light pinch of flaky sea salt for contrast.
6️⃣ Serve. Enjoy immediately while the donuts are fresh and the peanut butter cups are slightly melty.
