Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars

  • Author: Christine

Description

Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars are a no-bake snack that’s perfect for busy families. Combining the wholesome crunch of Cheerios with the rich creaminess of peanut butter and the natural sweetness of honey, these bars are easy to prepare and customize. They are ideal for breakfast, school lunches, or an afternoon snack. Their simple preparation and healthy ingredients make them a favorite for both kids and adults.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (I try to use unsalted with peanuts listed as the only ingredient- but use what you have!)
  • 1/2 cup honey (no honey under 1 year)
  • 4 cups plain cheerios

Instructions

  • Melt the honey and peanut butter in a microwave-safe dish in the microwave until it turns to liquid.  Put in the microwave for about 30 seconds. You can also melt on the stove if you prefer.
  • Add in Cheerios, and mix well.
  • Put into an 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 square dish lined with parchment paper, or flatten out on a cookie sheet.
  • Refrigerate until hardened then slice into bars.
  • Store covered in the fridge.

Notes

For best results, use natural peanut butter and high-quality honey. The bars can be customized with various add-ins like chocolate chips, dried fruits, or seeds. Ensure the mixture is well-pressed into the pan and completely set before cutting to avoid crumbling. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
