  • Author: Naomi
  • Total Time: Up to 24 hours (mostly hands-off)

Description

These Spicy Alabama Firecrackers are crunchy, fiery, and downright addictive! Made with saltine crackers soaked in a zesty blend of spices and oil, they’re a no-bake snack that’s perfect for parties, game day, or anytime munchies.

Ingredients

Scale

For the firecrackers:

  • 1 box (16 oz) saltine crackers (about 4 sleeves)

  • 1½ cups canola or vegetable oil

  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix (1 oz)

  • 2 tbsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to heat preference)

  • 1 tbsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)

Instructions

1️⃣ Prep the crackers: Place the saltine crackers in a large, sealable gallon-size zip-top bag or airtight container.

2️⃣ Mix the seasoning oil: In a bowl or measuring cup, whisk together the oil, ranch seasoning, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika until well combined.

3️⃣ Pour and coat: Pour the seasoned oil mixture over the crackers. Seal the bag or container and gently turn it several times to coat all crackers evenly.

4️⃣ Let them soak: Let the crackers sit at room temperature for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best flavor. Turn the bag every hour or so to keep things coated evenly.

5️⃣ Serve: Open the bag and serve the crackers as-is or on a platter. No baking required!

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container for up to a week.

  • Delicious as a standalone snack or with cheese, dips, or chili.

  • If you prefer a milder version, reduce the red pepper flakes to 1 tbsp or less.
