- 8 cups Crispix cereal
- 2 cups salted pecan halves
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup corn syrup
- ½ cup butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp baking soda
Preheat your oven to 250°F and prepare a large surface by lining it with parchment or wax paper for cooling later.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the Crispix cereal and the salted pecan halves.
In a saucepan set over medium-high heat, mix together the brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Allow the mixture to come to a gentle boil while stirring occasionally.
Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda. Be cautious as the mixture will foam up slightly.
Carefully pour the hot caramel mixture over the cereal and pecans. Use a spatula to gently toss everything together until evenly coated.
Spread the coated mixture into a 9×13-inch baking pan and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes to ensure even cooking.
After baking, pour the mixture onto the prepared parchment or wax paper. Allow it to cool completely before breaking it into clusters.
