Ingredients
  

  • 8 cups Crispix cereal
  • 2 cups salted pecan halves
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup corn syrup
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp baking soda

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 250°F and prepare a large surface by lining it with parchment or wax paper for cooling later.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the Crispix cereal and the salted pecan halves.
  • In a saucepan set over medium-high heat, mix together the brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Allow the mixture to come to a gentle boil while stirring occasionally.
  • Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda. Be cautious as the mixture will foam up slightly.
  • Carefully pour the hot caramel mixture over the cereal and pecans. Use a spatula to gently toss everything together until evenly coated.
  • Spread the coated mixture into a 9×13-inch baking pan and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  • After baking, pour the mixture onto the prepared parchment or wax paper. Allow it to cool completely before breaking it into clusters.
