- 6 medium fresh apples (preferably Golden Delicious or Fuji), peeled and sliced
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
In a large mixing bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice to prevent browning.
